Recently, we polled executives that rely heavily on their mobile devices. We asked them about receiving content via email alerts vs. SMS alerts. Push Mobile Media has updated our distribution system to include email alerts featuring optimized mobile content for the Blackberry, Windows Media Devices, iPhones, Motorola Droids, Samsung, Nokia, HTC and many other manufacturers.

“This is a well needed option for busy executives who are more familiar with interacting with email on their mobile device rather than the use of SMS messaging for urgent company business”, stated David Clemons , Push Mobile Media CEO. ” We are seeing interest in having these options due to the added enterprise security and management of mobile content within the enterprise.”

Our email system includes mobiShout, the new enterprise collaboration feature for collecting feedback in real time. This feedback mechanism is constantly maturing and our enterprise partners are providing us with very positive feedback.

I spoke to Motorola executives about their strategy and plan for supporting the Google Droid mobile operating system at CTIA. Last weekend I went out and picked up a Motorola DROID and the BlackBerry Storm2 – I think the mobile revolution is on fire with the power of these new devices.

These little mobile devices are heartbreakers – once you try one, you will want one. Video media is a huge plus within these phones. The UI is faster than expected and easy to learn.

Xi’an China – Push Mobile Media was invited to China to meet with Governor Yuan Chunqing and his Provincial Party Committee regarding potential business opportunities within Xi’an. During this five day visit and conference we have had strategic meetings with the two large mobile telecom companies. All was covered by the media and allowed us to have candid discussions about opportunities conducting business in China.

Sitting at the dinner table with the leadership of China’s fastest growing economies, is a very special opportunity. We were treated like royalty and left with a feeling that China – is interested in forming new partnerships in innovation and open business communications. Especially with high tech sector, the Governor of Xi’an Yuan was very proud of the countries resources of its people, the investments within the High Tech Zone and the Software Park. It has been an amazing opportunity to experience and learn about Chinese culture and business protocols.

It’s interesting – web sites like Twitter and WordPress do not load from within China. You can hit the WordPress home page but you can’t log into the admin side to write a new post. Twitter simply doesn’t load. It’s quite enlightening to know how much information we have access to back home – here you are just surfing along at the speed of life , and SMACK – the Great Wall of China!! Despite the new vision of an Open China still looks like they have a ways to go – at least for those of us conducting business here.

I will post more when I can access WordPress from outside of China. So far, it’s been a great experience.

MobiCourse - definition by Push Mobile Media ( LearnCast ) - The mobiCourse is not designed for the desktop exclusively, but more from a perspective of user mobility and the amount of time someone has "on the go" to begin, continue or to finalize on-going training or required education (CEU).

A mobiCourse defines a new level of thinking when compared to antiquated educational rules. The mobiCourse is not exclusively designed for the desktop. It is based on a perspective of user mobility and the amount of time someone has while “on the go” to absorb ongoing training and required education (CEU). As part of the bigger picture, mobiCourse can fit into your large training initiative by creating more concise knowledge bits and pieces that still follow learning objectives. The mobile components are learning enhancements for a blended learning approach.

mobiCourse should include the following mobile learning elements:

1. Outline or TOC for learning objectives

2. Navigation for all pages, quizzing, polling, feedback and media

3. Designed contextually for the USER EXPERIENCE

4. Hardware AGNOSTIC – Meaning not just for the iPhone !

5. Track user access and progress

6. Stop – start – continue- complete model

7. Using mobile devices such as laptops and a combination of mobile handheld devices

8. Alert systems using SMS and email

9. User feedback should be similar to the elearning standards already in use

10. Sync in to LMS for grading and user activity and feedback

Push Mobile Media has developed tools that enable the educator, teacher and subject expert to build simple to complex mobiCourse programs. We are in the early stage of all of these requirements as the list continues to grow.

Use our platform and discover how easy it is to build mobile content for your mobile audience.

SCORM has always been confused by many as a standard – but really it’s not. Content is SCORM conformant rather than SCORM compliant. We’ve have know this for a while. SCORM should be a “standard” and it should directly impact the future of mobile learning and mobile content. Integrated….

The mobile aspect of learning content and the technologies associated to distribute the mobile content is complex if the goal is to support a wide array of mobile devices, network carriers, content formats such as text, images, video, feed back , polling, quzzing and reporting. Additionally, the issue is online or off line content or synced to do both.

SCORM is based on a few simple ideas that make the learning components reusable and searchable within the LCMS/LMS. The aggregation of learning components into the corporate and education LMCS is big business and today the companies that own brand recognition and marketshare are meneouvering the strategic plans for mobile integration.

The question I bring is this – HOW IS SCORM GOING TO VIEW BILLIONS of MOBILE PAGES SITTING IN THE CLOUD?

User generated content – teacher generated content – student generated content will be the new RLO – socially driven by the user feedback and social rating systems of quality , relevance and so on….so how will SCORM help with this issue?

Let’s call this new discussion – mobiSCORM – nor mobiSCORN!!!

Check out the Link to the SCORM training. http://www.academiccolab.org/scormschool

I found this interesting article by reading Judy Brown’s posts in LearningTown. Michael Mace – I want to meet you!

The question posted was – are mobile applications going to die?

Summary: The business of making native apps for mobile devices is dying, crushed by a fragmented market and restrictive business practices. The problems are so bad that the mobile web, despite its many technical drawbacks, is now a better way to deliver new functionality to mobiles. I think this will drive a rapid rise in mobile web development, largely replacing the mobile app business. This has huge implications for mobile operators, handset companies, developers, and users. Michael Mace

“Mike, it’s time for you to write the obituary for mobile apps.”

At Push Mobile Media – we are device agnostic – this means we invest in our platform to support the Blackberry, Windows Mobile 05/06/6.5 the iPhone 2G/3G and hundreds of other mobile devices. This is how our platform works: we utilize the strength of the SMS delivery mechanism for alerts and the mobile browsers to deliver content. We provision each and every mobile device through a complex algorithm to deliver images, video, tests and quizzes – all with customized formatting and navigation. This is all accomplished through the mobile web – there are no downloads or programming skills required.

We all have seen the incredible success of the iPhone app store. I think they finally hit a gazillion downloads.

Well, if Blackberry, Motorola, Microsoft and NOKIA have something to say – you might see something different. Its not an just a plan for an app download – its using the mobile internet for asking questions, like “What do you think of this?” By delivering a message to people where they want it, and when they want it, you increase your chances of collaboration and of building trust – especially in the mobile workforce.

Have a nice day.

Meeting our clients in New York city was a great experience. The city is embodiment of vibrancy and speed. There is a sense of a new attitude, it seems. The city seems kinder than it has been in the past. It was an amazing experience.

During our week in NYC, the Online Learning 2009 show was filled with companies from all over the globe. Enterprises were looking for solutions. They also offered suggestions about what will work for them – that’s the best part.

This picture is with Michael Kroth ( Blue Subway – Penn Station) on our way back from meetings. I can definitely say that the subway is a great way of getting around. After a week of using most of the tracks/lines we were pretty good at getting to our appointments ON TIME!

We know that taking a consultative approach with customers is the only way to win enterprise business. We are learning to diagnose where the pain points are – not just show off the mobile content platform features. ( click – click – click)

From our meetings, dinners and hallway discussions we really hit a few home runs. New York is still the most incredible place in the world for business. We will be back sooner than later ( less than a few weeks…)

October 7th, 2009 – Boise, Idaho – (Virtual Press Office) – Push Mobile Media, the leading innovator of mobile campaign production, delivery and real-time feedback tools for enterprise managers has launched mobiShout, a secure collaboration tool for collecting feedback from the mobile workforce. mobiShout engages employees, contractors, and clients by gathering opinions and feedback on urgent business issues. All feedback is measured and reported in real-time via the web-based Push Mobile Media Platform™.

When users participate in mobile campaigns with built-in feedback forms, such as branding initiatives, training programs or surveys, the critical information they provide flows back instantly to a dashboard which analyzes and presents the data graphically. Offered as a premium tool, mobiShout is designed to leverage all mobile devices that support SMS messaging, mobile internet and/or mobile email. mobiShout is completely customizable, enabling branding and the range of goals set by multiple divisions within an enterprise.

To view a demo of mobiShout, please visit http://www.pushmobilemedia.com/mobishout.php.

“mobiShout represents a new breed of mobile technology, one that brings the mobile workforce together in real-time. This is a new and improved collaboration process for the enterprise as both email and voicemail are becoming less efficient”, stated David Clemons, founder of Push Mobile Media. “A distributed workforce that is harnessing collaborative mobile technology has a distinct competitive advantage over one that isn’t”, he added.

According to the most recent forecast by the market intelligence and advisory services firm IDC, close to 75% of the total U.S. workforce will be mobile by the end of 2011. Growth of the mobile workforce will result in excess of one billion mobile users.

About Push Mobile Media – Developed specifically for the needs of the mobile enterprise workforce, the Push Mobile Media platform lets managers create engaging educational programs and marketing initiatives delivered to mobile devices. Backed by real-time feedback tracking and robust analytics reporting, this easy to use web-based service saves time and costs associated with mobile communications, content production and distribution for the internal and external mobile workforce.
